The Open House at the dairy farm of the Fam. Abbink in Vriezenveen (NL) last Saturday was a great success with a lot of visitors. In 2012 the family conceived the plan to significantly expand their farm. Just two years later this has become reality and there is a new barn for 188 cows, 30 dry cows and heifers 24.
There has been paid much attention to cow comfort and good overview in the stable. The barn is of type 1 +4 +0 equipped with a waiting chamber with automatic cow mover. The cows are milked with a 40 stands rotary parlour milking from DeLaval.
Herman Abbink also has a large arable farm, and for that reason he has searched for a dairy manager and found him in Emiel Willems. Before this Emiel was feeding advisor and so is the Trioliet mixer, supplied by Mechanisatiebedrijf Geesteren, in good hands.
