Self-propelled Triotrac selected due to very high silage extraction capacity and standard four-wheel drive

“Loading is fast and easy and moreover, there's barely any sweeping required. Maintaining the machine is also simple", according to the Wester brothers.

Guy en Christian Wester run a dairy farm in the south of Luxembourg, with around 120 milk cows plus heifers and bulls; 400 head of cattle altogether. For 18 months now, they have been in proud possession of a Triotrac 2 self-propelled feed mixer with a capacity of 24 m3. Before, they used a self-loading feed trailer with an auger, but they were hitting the trailer's limits in terms of capacity. The auger was also showing a lot of wear.

“Enamoured of Triotrac's cutting unit”

The Wester brothers were particularly enamoured of the Triotrac's cutting unit. They appreciate the fact that the knife requires little maintenance and has a very high silage extraction capacity, especially for grass. Loading any type of feed component is no problem, including straw, round or square bales, meal, etc. The mixing quality is very satisfactory too, another reason they picked the Triotrac. The siblings consider the Triotrac's standard four-wheel drive a great benefit as well. Their farmyard is quite uneven and can get slippery in the wintertime. That makes 4WD an absolute necessity.

“The Triotrac is the only self-propelled feed mixer on the market with a cabin deserving of the name!”

Christiaan Wester: “The Triotrac is the only self-propelled feed mixer on the market with a cabin deserving of the name!” Of all self-propelled feed mixers, this one has the most generously sized cabin. With nearly all other brands, you can't really sit comfortably, but in the Triotrac cabin, you can. Besides, the cabin is adjustable in height so you always have a good line of sight. We feed three rations a day, with a high proportion of grass. The Triotrac's silage extraction capacity is huge and moreover, it creates a nice tight silage pit, with very little wasted feed.”

“The Triotrac creates a nice tight silage pit, with very little wasted feed”.

The Wester brothers set great store by a tidy farmyard and neat silage pit. “Loading is fast and easy and moreover, there's barely any sweeping required.  Maintaining the machine is also simple. Thanks to its convenient design, you - the cattle farmer - can handle much of the machine's maintenance yourself.”
